Joanne's love of color developed when she was a child growing up surrounded by the vivid hues of the Caribbean. Blue skies, turquoise waves, tropical flowers were her backdrop, as she attempted to capture everything that she saw on paper. Her passion for art was set aside, however, as life took her down a different path.

After raising a family and working as an accountant, she once again picked up the brush. The moment that she held it in her hand, she was smitten and the love affair has continued since. The obsession with flowers began when she painted her first rose. She is fascinated with the way that light and shadow play across the petals. She enjoys the smiles that her paintings elicit from the viewer.

Joanne is a self taught artist who has studied through the years with many "master" painters such as Charles Becker, Brian Davis, Gary Jenkins, Arleta Pech. She has won several "people's choice" awards at juried shows.

Joanne and her husband live in the San Francisco Bay Area. She exhibits in Danville, Ca. as well as her web site. She is represented by Bentley Publishing.
